Remember, Remember

The Victor of the 52nd Hunger Games
Caspian Coburn

District Four
Kill Count: 3

Caspian watched as Andromeda was engulfed by the hole and purple tentacles. They would frequently haunt his dreams throughout the rest of his life, alongside Misty and her dying pain. He returned back to Four, living in the Victor's Village and attempting as hard as he could to mend his life back together. Both of his friends refused to volunteer like they had planned; Caspian had warned them of the trauma they so childishly ignored. Not long after returning, despite the pain, Caspian found a girl; Marine Cresta. A beautiful, doe-eyed girl that he had known since childhood but never found the courage to talk to. She saw the pain in his eyes, and slowly, the two grew close. They dated for a year when Marine found out that she was pregnant. Caspian feared for the child. He wasn't oblivious to the damage that Snow planned for the families of his Victors, and so, him and Marine kept their relationship a secret. Marine gave birth to a girl, Annie, never telling anyone the father of her daughter. Caspian spent the rest of his life watching Annie grow up from afar, too scared to put her or Marine in that kind of danger. He watched with wide, horrified eyes as Annie was reaped for the 70th Games. She grew up so fast, so beautifully, Caspian wondered how him; a naive, mindless teenager that won a brutal game could ever had produced a child. Caspian died in the Victor's Purge after Katniss' rebellion. He never got to meet Annie, but he knew he'd always be proud of her.

Second Place: Andromeda Lynx
District Two
Kill Count: 3

Andromeda's body was soon returned to her drunken uncle at his small shack. Her coffin was neglected for weeks before finally, through a lot of effort, a young Sterling buried it in the backyard without their uncle knowing. Sterling and Demetria went through more turmoil and abuse, until finally, Sterling volunteered himself for the 58th Games. Months before leaving, he submitted Demetria into the Training Center so that if he failed, she was safe, if he won, he could save her. He never did come home, and Demetria mourned the Games that took both her siblings.

Third Place: Surge Dalton
District Three
Kill Count: 2

Surge's place in the Games was a complete shock to the entire district. Rarely did a Three tribute win. Most ended up dying in the bloodbath, but not Surge, no, he made it to third place, a feat that seemed impossible to the district. His coffin was returned to his parents, Bolt and Alice, who buried him in the backyard underneath a tree. He never really liked the outdoors, but they believed that he would appreciate the sentiment.

Fourth Place: Elle Cludiant
District Six
Kill Count: 1

Elle's coffin was returned to her parents, Victor and Thalia, where she was laid to rest in the local cemetery. No-one could understand why Elle didn't win, more so her brothers, Gabe and Bryon. Day by day, they visited her grave, still asking the same question. To the outside world, it simply looked like she had given up. Elle was laid to rest near her cousin, Cy, who she was close too. Two deaths was enough for the family.

Fifth Place: Bena Madrigal
District Five
Kill Count: 1

Bena's death hit most hard to Anton. It was like he had his heart ripped out. Not a day went by that he didn't think of Bena, and when he had his first child, a boy, Bena became his name in honor. In honor to his friend who got so far. Bena's father, Ruly, soon absorbed himself in his work as the Head Peacekeeper of District Five. He never admitted it, but he loved his son more than he showed. Without him, there was nothing left to do but work. Work and move on.

Sixth Place: Modessa Lilian
District Five
Kill Count: 0

After her eating disorder was discovered, her parents felt twice as bad as they did before. They had never noticed. Never. Modessa's mother, on the year of every Games thereafter, would replay the talk between Modessa and Surge in the arena in her head. Those words, about feeling neglected, burned into her skull. She never forgave herself, and her father was just the same. Modessa's body was cremated; an urn placed on the small fireplace in their home.

Seventh Place: Basil Larkspur
District Eleven
Kill Count: 1

When Basil's death was announced, Poppy, his younger sister, couldn't stop crying. She would have forgave him for killing; she just wanted her big brother to return home to her. His body was cremated and placed in a special, expensive urn paid for by Seeder, who tried her best to help the family out as much as possible, like she did with many other fallen tributes. Amber constantly visits his grave, but has moved on, as much as it broke her heart to lose a boyfriend she had only recently got with. Poppy would forever remember her brother as the bravest person to ever walk the arena's hallways.

Eighth Place: Rowen Knight
District Eight
Kill Count: 0

Rowen's bullying became more apparent in Eight then it ever did. Everyone knew Rowen, dubbed the Ragdoll, was constantly bullied by every other teenager and child in the district. But when it became apparent, the accused were finally punished. Rowen's parents went out their way to ensure mayhem on the families of those who blinded her when she was younger with a hot poker. Her body was laid to rest in the cemetery, where sadly, it was constantly marred with graffiti and litter, everyone taking pleasure from the death of the girl they wished it upon day by day.

Ninth Place: Maybelle Kailan
District Eleven
Kill Count: 0

Chaff personally accompanied Maybelle's coffin back to Eleven, where he paid for her funeral, something so elegant but simple, it suited the small girl. He made sure her family would never go hungry. The funeral was attended by her father and her older siblings, Glade, Leif, Poplyn and then her little brother, Kie, all of whom were sad to see their little sister gone. Glade became less rebellious because of it, stepping out and helping the family out more. It was sort of a wake-up call. Sometimes, little Kie says he feels her with them. Truth is, Maybelle never left. She would always be there for them all, watching her family grow.

Tenth Place: Logan Voss
District One
Kill Count: 1

Jasmine was just as emotional at her son's death like she was at her daughter's. Logan and Kaleigh were inseparable, and now, they would be together again. Jasmine soon divorced her husband, Steven, banishing him from the home after Logan's death. Steven never loved and ignored Kaleigh, yet he mourned Logan's death, and that didn't sit well with Jasmine. She paid for Logan's funeral entirely, refusing to allow Steven a single thing to do with it. She made sure to bury Logan next to Kaleigh; his shining, sparkly star.

Eleventh Place: Beauty D'Avanzo
District One
Kill Count: 3

Beauty's father, Legend, a big man who ran one of the biggest Academy's within One, was more than disappointed with his daughter's failure and death. He was always close to her, loved her because he thought she was one of the greatest, a shoe-in Victor... That changed on her death. Legend quickly went on to train any other trainee with potential. His son, Shine, had abandoned him to become a Peacekeeper and his daughter died. She got a quaint, pretty funeral with white roses dotted around, but Legend could never forget the daughter that failed him. As much as he loved her, he couldn't hide his bitter resentment.

Twelfth Place: Ember Auger
District Twelve
Kill Count: 1

Ember's body was sent back to the Seam she grew up in, body burned and ashes scattered near the bakery shop she spent a lot of her time working, making cakes and earning money to help with her family surviving. Her parents, Calder and Willow, would always miss their daughter, but could never replace her. They soon wasn't able to cope without the money Ember brought in from the bakery, meaning that Calder took extra shifts in the mines, leading to him developing lung cancer and eventually dying. Her little brother Aden soon worked at the bakery, determined to make her proud and carry on her legacy.

Thirteenth Place: Corvus Shade
District Seven
Kill Count: 0

Corvus' reaping wasn't a surprise to his siblings Saffron and Henry. Henry and him had taken as much tessarae as possible, but Corvus always managed to take more without Henry ever knowing. His odds were greater than most in Seven. The family, surviving in the lower part of the district, was unable to afford for Corvus to be buried in the local cemetery  and so, Henry buried Corvus within the backyard. Saffron was never reaped, much like Corvus always wished.

Fourteenth Place: Misty Liu
District Four
Kill Count: 0

Caspian made sure that Misty's coffin wasn't returned to the district until he was to return. He couldn't bare to leave Misty alone, not after all she done for him and how much she opened his eyes to the world and his naivety. Misty's family was naturally poorer than most, but that didn't stop Caspian from paying for the whole ceremony. He paid for her flowers, the funeral held on the white beaches of Four, attended by the whole district. She would be buried in a special plot in the local cemetery, visited monthly but Caspian to say thanks, thanks for making him see the world and being his friend.

Fifteenth Place: Hollis Brood
District Two
Kill Count: 2

Hollis' death shook the Training Center in Two. He was a shoe-in to actually win the Games, and it was no surprise since he volunteered at such a young age compared to most trainees who volunteer when they're older. For once, not since another girl many years ago, did Marcia feel actual guilt. She placed all her hope on Andromeda, who also fell. This was the last time Marcia ever mentored. She got tired from all the tributes with high hopes and unable to deliver. Hollis' body was burned at the Training Center, a typical funeral for fallen trainees/tributes.

Sixteenth Place: Bridge Campbell
District Six
Kill Count: 0

Bridge's little brother, Cove, was soon found out as the real culprit of the thievery. The guilt ate him alive, and sadly, he never got to actually say thank you to his brother for taking the whipping before it became too late to do so. Many years later, Cove disappeared, never to be found. A few more years went by when his body was found, starving and dehydrated, but most definitely dead. Some say he just walked and walked until he fell. Bridge made sure to punish his little brother when Cove arrived in the afterlife.

Seventeenth Place: Komara Grey
District Nine
Kill Count: 0

Komara's family couldn't afford to bury her. Instead, they chose to cremate her, spreading her ashes across the fields they tended too. Her death was a surprise, but everyone knew Komara would eventually succumb to the pressure. She held a great poker face, but inside, it would have destroyed her bit by bit. It did. And everyday, everyone is reminded of how great of an actor Komara truly was.

Eighteenth Place: Isaac Eibrab
District Nine
Kill Count: 0

Isaac's death only became a shock due to the size of the boy. Many expected him to join the Careers, but Isaac was far too depressed, and sadly, that became his downfall. His mother had always stated he had been suicidal and depressed since his father's murder, but she never thought he'd willingly give his life up. A coffin was returned to the home but never buried. His mother left it in the spare room, too poor and afraid to lose her last family member properly.

Nineteenth Place: Ty Herring
District Eight
Kill Count: 0

Nobody was surprised by Ty's death. He was such a kind, nice kid, that everyone knew he couldn't win. Kindness is something a Victor ever was. His mother and father, Tartan and Brill, made sure that he was cremated as his wish; Ty hated bugs and the idea of being in the ground. Their baby had lost his life, but they had nothing left to do. The following year, Ty's older sister, Cotton, was also reaped and never returned. The Herring family believed they were cursed.

Twentieth Place: Tanna Hines
District Ten
Kill Count: 1

The moment Tanna was reaped, her parents finally saved and released her sister, held captive by Tanna for many years. The district believed she had run away, but her parents knew better and her parents most definitely feared her. When Tanna wasn't around, they made sure her sister was okay. They saw Tanna's reaping more as a blessing rather than a curse, and deep down, couldn't have been more happier at her death since they feared she could win; she definitely had it in her. Nobody willingly accepted Tanna's coffin, and instead, it returned to the Capitol to be disposed of.

Twenty First Place: Rudy Millwater
District Ten
Kill Count: 0

When Rudy was reaped, no-one was too shocked. Rudy had taken out tons upon tons of tessarae. Worst of all, Rudy never knew the actual price to help feed his family. He was that oblivious to the cost it took. His coffin was returned where it was cremated and stored in a small, metal can. His family were poor; they couldn't afford to bury him or even buy an urn.

Twenty Second Place: Ravi Coal
District Twelve
Kill Count: 0

Ravi's coffin was returned to his home back in the Merchant's quarters of the district. He had a simple funeral with barely anybody attending. No-one was surprised, and it would be a lie to say that his parents, Flint and Asher, hadn't already planned his funeral and picked his grave. His body was buried opposite his best friend, Klark, who died almost two years ago. Flint always said that Ravi hated to be away from Klark; the two would forever be reunited.

Twenty Third Place: Aimee Wyre
District Three
Kill Count: 0

Aimee's body was never collected by her family. When she was reaped, her mother was in so much hysteria, she never made it through the night. Aimee never found out that just a day after her reaping, her mother had killed herself, Aimee's siblings being taken into the local orphanage. Even if she was to return, there would have been no-one to welcome her with open arms. Her cremated body stayed within the Capitol alongside other neglected, fallen tributes.

Twenty Fourth Place: Cypress Nelson
District Seven
Kill Count: 0

Cypress' death came at quite a shock to the rest of Seven. In all fairness, if they had to put their money on any tribute to win, it would have been Cypress. Watching her fall and become the first tribute to die was definitely not expected. Her parents, Fir and Willow, buried their child in the local graveyard, unable to bury her in their yard due to being too hard to remember all the time.
